I want to fabricate original boards in a short time.
Problem Solution
The MDP-10Mk2 direct printer can easily print etching resists for printed wiring boards and metal parts production using UV curable ink.
Pattern data created on a PC can be printed directly on the substrate copper foil surface for etching, greatly shortening the fabrication process.
The etching resist can be peeled off after curing using a dedicated peeling solution.
How to use the direct printer
- The following movie uses MDP-10, but there are no major differences in basic specifications and operation methods from MDP-10Mk2.
- If you have any questions or find it difficult to understand, please contact us from the Inquiry page.
How to use 1: Setup
- Check before turning on the power
- Connecting the power cable and USB cable
- Confirmation of power-on initial operation
Usage 2: Initial settings, test pattern printing
- Printing application initial settings (mechanical offset, head parameters)
- Printing test pattern
Point
- Inkjet heads are very expensive and delicate. Work carefully.
- Dust and other particles may adhere to the print head during printing, resulting in a loss of image quality. In such cases, we will check the image quality by cleaning and test printing again.
Instruction 3: Head cleaning procedure and test printing (confirmation)
- Inkjet head cleaning procedure
- Test printing after cleaning (nozzle check pattern printing)
Point
- Inkjet heads are very expensive and delicate. We proceed with the work carefully.
- Dust and other particles may adhere to the print head during printing, resulting in a loss of image quality. In such cases, we will check the image quality by cleaning and test printing again.
Instruction 4: Printing on the substrate
- Set the substrate
- Setting up printing application and transferring images
- Printing
- Finish Check
Point
- The board will have a small amount of warpage. If the warpage is large, fix the board with double-sided tape or the like.
- Be careful not to cause any abnormality during printing.
Instruction 5: Peeling off resist ink
- Preparation of special stripping agent
- Treatment of Printed Substrates
- Cleaning
Point
- Warm the stripper to 30-40°C to shorten the stripping time.
(30-40°C: about 5 minutes, 20°C (room temperature): about ~20 minutes)
Printing is complete.
Daily maintenance
Ink filling
Add and fill ink when the INK lamp on the main unit panel lights up orange.
(The INK lamp is blinking while the ink is warming up. Watch the status after warming up is complete)
Maintenance (cleaning the ink saucer and inkjet head cover)
After repeated printing, excess ink accumulates in the ink saucer and inkjet head cover area (home position). Please check them periodically and clean them if they are dirty.
- See Step 3 for inkjet head cleaning.
Maintenance Work Procedure.
- Cleaning of ink receptacle
- Cleaning of inkjet head cover
Replacing spacers
The standard thickness that MDP-10 can print on is 1.0 to 1.6 mmt.
If the thickness of the object to be printed is thicker than 1.6 mm, the spacer must be replaced to lower the table height.
